Porsche 928 Rendezvous is a unique, annual event that began 4 years ago at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta when the first-ever produced Porsche 928 – the Number 1 VIN preproduction press car – was on display at the Porsche Museum. The event is the brainchild of 928 enthusiast Scott Martin and has steadily grown each year since then, traveling to various parts of the country. The second Rendezvous was held at Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota in the summer of 2020. In 2021, the third Rendezvous was held during the Porsche Werks Reunion at the Amelia Island Concours and was appropriately called “Sharks Circling Amelia Island”.

This 1977 Porsche 928 is the first ever made, shown on display at the Porsche Museum (left). The last Porsche 928 produced was this Pearlglanz Green 1995 928 GTS (right). Both cars will be at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Celebration of Porsche this July!
Pittsburgh was selected as this year’s location for Rendezvous 928, to coincide with Porsche being chosen as the Marque of the Year for the 2022 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. Some of the rarest and most significant Porsche 928s in the world will be gathered on the fairways of the Schenley Park Golf Course during the PVGP’s International Car Show and Race Weekend on July 23/24. A special display of the “Alpha and Omega” will be included, consisting of a return of Porsche# 1 to the event, on display alongside the very last Porsche 928 ever produced, a special Pearlglanz Green 1995 928 GTS.  In between will be a collection of some of the finest and rarest Porsche 928s assembled in one place.Additionally, the 928 community is known the world over for its enthusiastic owner’s group – nobody does gatherings like 928 owners, and this event will be no exception. The 928s will be on display at the Porsche Corral in the Marque of the Year area and is not to be missed. With Porsche as Marque of the Year, this is going to be a very special PVGP. There will be hundreds of Porsches on the lawn. Let’s do the sharks proud like was done at Amelia. We plan to have some very special and significant 928’s there too. Here is a shot from the last time we had a 928 celebration at the 2017 PVGP – #1 and #6 and Blumaxx in a patriotic display
