Race your Porsche with the PVGP!
Two grand race weekends featuring a big, fast track at Pitt Race and an authentic road circuit through the winding city streets of Schenley Park. Sponsored by Sewickley Porsche.
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is preparing to celebrate its 40th year this summer and honor Porsche as the Marque of the Year with Porsches on the track both weekends. Porsches will also be on display at the car shows, parties and parades during the July 15-24 Race Week. The PVGP expects 400 Porsche vehicles to participate in the Porsche Marque Show on the Schenley Park Golf Course on the July 23-24 weekend. The PVGP logo for 2022 represents the famous Brumos Porsche livery.
Ray Shaffer, the Porsche Market Development Manager at Porsche Cars North America, is coming home to Pittsburgh to serve as our Grand Marshal. Ray was born and raised in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Ray traces the roots of his career in the auto industry to a chance meeting he had with the late Coca-Cola Porsche racer, and Sebring 12 hour-winner, Bob Akin at the 1986 PVGP.

Historics at Pitt Race July 14-17, 2022

There is a place for all Porsches at the PVGP Historics at Pittsburgh International Race Complex on the first weekend. The purpose-built track is 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh and provides the perfect venue for racing legends to thunder through the Pennsylvania countryside while providing plenty of racing room and safety features. The addition of the 1.2-mile South Track now stretches the facility out to a heart-pounding 2.8 miles. Porsche 356, 911, 912, 904, 914 and 944 race within the medium and large bore groups all weekend and the newer Porsches run in the Modern Historics Group. Experience one the world’s most challenging tracks through the city streets of Pittsburgh’s Schenley Park. Porsches compete all weekend in the small, medium and large bore groups and then all come together for a 25-minute Porsche Marque race on Sunday afternoon. Porsches from 1974 and earlier with 3-litre or smaller engines are eligible. Top finishers will be recognized in the Winners Circle. If you are a Porsche driver and you haven’t raced through the park, this is your chance to experience racing that way it started in the 40s and 50s with haybales in the corners and tens of thousands of spectators up against the snowfence.
