Be one of the hundreds of people from all over the United States and Canada, to experience the heart-pounding thunder of the PVGP Historics at Pittsburgh International Race Complex Powered by Ford. Bring your family along to visit the cars and drivers in the expansive paddock and watch the exhilarating racing. If you are looking for speed, muscle and thunder, all for a great cause, this is the place to be.
Since 2004, racers from all over the country have come to the purpose-built track 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh for fierce and competition between the legends of the 60s and early 70s, including Mustangs, Corvettes, Jaguars, BMWs, Porsches and Alfa Romeos, just to name a few.
The full road racing course features 19 turns and 2.8 miles of track following the natural elevation of the landscape of Western, PA. These hills and valleys are highlighted in an 85-foot vertical elevation change between turns 3 and 6 along with numerous blind turns and 4 high-speed straight-aways.
Pitt Race provides something for all styles of racing, from technical sections and turns where lines mean everything to areas where high horsepower cars can stretch their legs.
Spectator Hill provides the perfect perch for watching some great racing, with a view of about 70% of the track.
If you feel the personal need for speed, that can be done too! For a donation to the charity, you can rent a kart and reach speeds up to 45 mph on the .82 mile karting track. PIRC donates a percentage of the proceeds to the Grand Prix charities. The kart, gas and all safety equipment are all included.
Spectators also have an opportunity to experience a lap of the track in a real race car. Candy's Charity Rides are named in honor of Candy Stephani, longtime volunteer, and wife of former Race Chairman Ralph Steinberg, who passed away in 2011. For a $25 donation you can experience a lap on the entire 2.8 mile circuit. $60 for a lap in a GT40 or Shelby Cobra!
