Please Make a Donation to the PVGP Charities
Since our founding in 1983, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association’s mission has remained the same: To produce a world-class vintage racing event to raise funds to support individuals with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Last year we raised $275,000, bringing our 41-year donation to more than $6.7 million for Autism Pittsburgh and Merakey Allegheny Valley School.
Starting in 2005 the PVGP selected an ambassador from each of our charities. The PVGP Ambassador Program was such a success that after 10 years we added more ambassadors. Each person represents the impact that our event and charities have on our community. Thousands of lives have been dramatically improved through the educational and residential programs that the Autism Pittsburgh and Merakey AVS provide. Our ambassadors help to put a face on the charities and let the public see that their donations and efforts have a real and lasting effect.

Sport a PVGP License Plate with our New Logo!
Show your pride with your very own PVGP license plate! Replace your standard PA plate with this fully legal PVGP license plate and show your Grand Prix pride! The PVGP license plate is the brainchild of the Grand Prix’s own Scott Rupert, who worked with PennDOT to make this happen. It’s a significant fundraiser and a year-round awareness builder for our event. The plate must be ordered directly from the PVGP, and the price is only $75 to receive an assigned 4 digit number. You can also create your own vanity plate for $200. Both options are available on the form below. Allow 8-10 weeks, please. Download the 3 page form – updated November 2024.

Legacy Giving
Earlier this year, the late Robert MacDowell’s estate made a $22,000 bequest to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix from Robert’s award-winning 1968 Droptop Woodie Mercury Park Lane Convertible sale proceeds. It was his favorite car among the dozens of Fords he owned. He kept this Mercury for so long because he enjoyed seeing people’s reactions when they looked at it since most of them had never seen a convertible from this era with wood-grain side panels before. He was an Edsel parts man in 1957, learned auto mechanics and bodywork, went for Ford training, and became a certified Ford mechanic in 1960.

Donate Your Used Car, Truck, RV or Boat to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix and Help Fuel our Charities!
In partnership with Vehicles For Charity, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix accepts pre-owned vehicles that will be auctioned to raise money for our charities. Fast, free pick-up, friendly service and better than a low trade-in or high repairs. You will also get a tax benefit while helping those less fortunate. Save yourself the work and aggravation of selling your vehicle on your own. Over the past 15 years dozens of PVGP fans have donated cars, ranging from $250 to $10,000 each. Every dollar is important to our charities.
Vehicles For Charity makes the whole process easy. They will pick up the vehicle and take it to the auction for sale. No problem if the car is not running – it will be loaded onto a flatbed truck.
- Give us a call at 412 559-3500 or complete the short online form
- Pick-up is arranged – all you need to do is have the keys and sign the vehicle title
- The vehicle is sold and the PVGP receives the funds
- You will be sent a letter that will allow you to deduct the full sale price on your taxes
- Everybody wins!
