2023 PVGP Opening Ceremonies

The PVGP Parade and Opening Ceremony runs from approximately 11:10 AM until noon on Sunday of Race Weekend in Schenley Park. The parade starts near the Westinghouse fountain on Schenley Drive and takes a full parade lap of the racetrack. Ted Sohier, the voice of the vintage hosts the ceremony. After the completion of the parades presentations and remarks are made on the Peoples Gas Stage on the Golf Course near turn 15 prior to the start of the first race at noon.

Sunday Parade & Opening Ceremony Schedule

11:00 AM – Grand Marshal, Honorary Race Director, Charity Ambassadors and Dignitaries ride in parade
11:10 AM – Marque of the Year Parade
11:25 AM – Patron Parking Parade
11:35 AM – Welcome by Ted Sohier, Remarks by PVGP Officials, City of Pittsburgh
11:45 AM – Presentation of Color Guard and National Anthem
Noon  –  Ladies & Gentlemen….start your engines for the feature races!
