Schenley Park Race Groups

Preservation & Pre-War

Recognized pre-war automobiles and select later cars that fit within a traditional pre-war style run group. Immediate post-war sports cars may also be accepted on an individual basis. The group primarily features European sports cars presented much as they were originally produced and driven in the 1950s and 1960s, along with small-displacement sports cars (typically under 1 liter) built prior to 1975 and Formula 3 cars through 1965. Included are 1936-1939 MG TA and MG TB models (1292cc and 1250cc). The Preservation Class is intended for cars that closely reflect their original road-going configuration rather than fully prepared race cars.

Roll bars, fuel cells, HANS devices, and arm restraints are recommended but not required for this group.

This relaxed, non-competitive group features limited passing opportunities, allowing licensed racers to experience the world-famous Schenley Park street circuit in a more traditional setting. Awards for the combined Pre-War, Preservation, and Under 1 Liter Group are determined by corner-worker voting based on vehicle presentation, authenticity, and driver conduct rather than race times. The field will include several Jaguar E-Types along with a variety of unique automobiles making their PVGP debut.
