2024 PVGP Gala at the PPG Wintergarden

We are excited to take the Blacktie & Tailpipes Gala to the beautiful PPG Place and the Wintergarden downtown. The 8,000 sq ft plant-filled, glass-enclosed event venue is bathed in natural light. Based in Pittsburgh’s iconic PPG Place, no other location is like it. It is a stunning event venue in an urban setting, the PPG Wintergarden is sure to impress.

The Grand Prix has a long history of guest artists painting live at our gala event. We are excited that the talented and beautiful Kait Schoeb will be our guest artist at PPG Wintergarden. According to Kait, one of my favorite parts of being an artist is my ability to help people. In recent years, I’ve found that I can raise money for great causes and organizations, and my art has a real purpose.’ We can’t wait to see what Kait plans to paint! Our emcee and entertainment this year is Billy Hartung. Billy was with us in 2021 and returns this year thanks to the sponsorship from Maggie & John Schmotzer at Metropolitan Window Company.

As an Entertainer, Billy has enjoyed a 25-year career involving Broadway, Off-Broadway, films, television and regional theatres throughout the country.  Currently, he can be seen singing and dancing in the Academy Award-winning movie musical “CHICAGO” (Miramax). He is thrilled to have been invited to perform at the 75th Annual Academy Awards (ABC) and The 25th Anniversary of the Kennedy Center Honors (CBS), where he performed in a tribute to Chita Rivera. With over 1000 performances on the Broadway stage to his credit, Billy has been featured in the “Original Casts” of three Broadway shows. The critically acclaimed Side Show, the high-energy Broadway blockbuster Footloose and The sold-out limited engagement with Liza Minnelli titled – Minnelli on Minnelli:  Live at the Palace Theatre.   Local credits include Pittsburgh City Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Pittsburgh CLO, The Pittsburgh Playhouse, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and The Pittsburgh Opera. He has shared the stage and performed on the same bill with some of the finest musicians in the country over the last 2 decades.
