Patron Parking

Patron Parking is a reserved VIP area on the Schenley Park golf course to watch the races from the privacy of your exclusive parking spot overlooking turns 17 and 18. Patron Parking is one of the oldest traditions of the Grand Prix, an important fundraiser and the best way to see the races.

Assorted picnics, tailgate parties, and even lavish catered spreads dot the landscape. Spaces are wide enough for your sports car or SUV. Buy multiple spaces and put up a tent or set up a picnic. It’s a trackside party like no other. Prizes are awarded annually for Most Outstanding and Coolest Parties.  Single spots are $200 with discounts available for multiple purchases.

New Panther Hollow Hillclimb!

With the closing of Panther Hollow Bridge, the PVGP is pivoting and introducing a Hillclimb. Starting near Phipps Conservatory. This intense 1-mile hillclimb charges up the historic, stone-walled Circuit Drive, winding through the park to the Bob O’Connor Golf Course to the finish line at the Neill Log House, right in front of the Patron Parking fans! The cars will race at the same speed they did in the vintage race, plus we will be able to feature some larger, louder cars than before! Unfortunately, the bridge closure limits our track circuit and we will not be able to offer the Patron Parade this year. Race Details

Vehicle Restrictions
Patron Parking is held on the fairways of a golf course therefore motor homes, RV’s and vehicles over 4,000 pounds are not permitted. Tents are permitted but they can not be erected prior to your entrance on Sunday morning at 9:00 am. Live or broadcast music is not permitted because of the proximity of other patrons – besides, we all want to hear the races!

Patron Parking will have the front row seat for the inaugural Panther Hollow Hillclimb. Racers will climb the hill to the golf course every 30 seconds, racing past the finish line at the Neill Log Cabin in the middle of Patron Parking!

2021 Patron Parking at the PVGP

Entrance – Gate F

Patron Parkers are instructed to enter the Schenley Park Golf Course from Schenley Drive, left onto Darlington Road, and then right onto East Circuit Road. You will be directed onto the golf course through GATE F.  Due to the bridge closing and the lack of a full track there will not be a Patron Parade in 2025.

Patron Parking at Pitt Race – July 12-13

The PVGP Historic Races at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Beaver Falls offer an opportunity similar to Patron Parking. The PIRC facility has grown into a ‘state of the art’ motorsport complex, and the PVGP hosts a weekend of Historic Races.

We have created a unique parking option on top of Spectator Hill, a grassy hilltop overlooking both the North and South tracks, where you can ‘park & picnic’ while enjoying a commanding view of the races. A short stroll over the hill puts you in the middle of the race paddock.

VIP Parking only costs $30 per day to park your vehicle all day and throw a tailgate party or erect a pop-up tent, just like Patron Parking in Schenley Park. This fee is in addition to your admission to the gate. Spectator parking is outside the facility, so this is the only way to park your car and see the races.

VIP parking will be based on a ‘first come, first served basis and will be limited in number. The ‘one time’ all-day fee is only $30 per car plus standard per person event admission fees at the gate.

NOTE: THE PVGP TENT POLICY PROHIBITING SPECTATOR TENTS ON THE GOLF COURSE DOES NOT APPLY TO PATRON PARKING – THE POLICY WAS DESIGNED TO HELP MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF PATRON PARKING PARTIES AND TO KEEP SPECTATORS FROM PUTTING UP TENTS THAT BLOCK OR HINDER YOUR VIEW OF THE RACE TRACK.
