Midday Action: Three Exciting Exhibition Groups

This year, the lunch break becomes part of the action as the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix introduces three exciting Exhibition Groups. Located in front of Phipps Conservatory, the exhibition paddock offers spectators a rare opportunity to meet the participants, get up close to the vehicles, and experience the excitement before they take to the course. These unique attractions bring added energy and entertainment to race weekend and are not to be missed.

BMW Ring Taxi

Buckle up and experience the PVGP from the passenger seat of the BMW Ring Taxi. It’s the fastest, loudest, and most exhilarating ride of race weekend.

Inspired by the famous passenger rides at Germany’s Nürburgring, the Ring Taxi gives fans the opportunity to ride the famous Schenley Park circuit in a high-performance BMW M car. From the acceleration up the hills to the dramatic turns and elevation changes, passengers experience the course exactly as the racers do.

The Ring Taxi has become one of the PVGP’s most popular attractions, drawing crowds to the snow fence to watch the BMW slide through Schenley Park’s corners – delivering passengers an unforgettable ride. Best of all, each ride supports the PVGP’s charitable mission.

Drifters

A select group of drifters from last year’s wildly popular exhibition will return to light up Schenley Park with another unforgettable display of car control and tire-smoking excitement. These talented drivers will launch their cars up the hill past the golf course in a series of controlled slides, carrying speed and angle around the course while demonstrating the remarkable precision and skill that made last year’s debut one of the weekend’s biggest attractions.

The sights, sounds, and unmistakable smell of burning rubber are sure to draw crowds once again. Even better, spectators will have the opportunity to experience the action firsthand through passenger rides, putting them in the right seat for an adrenaline-filled drifting experience unlike anything else at the Grand Prix.

Special thanks to Dave Krepley for coordinating the participation of Garage Drift Inspire, District Drift, Deep Sleep Drift, Hardluck Drift Crew, and Clubloose2 Drift. Presented by Ghost Energy

Collegiate Formula Teams

The Collegiate Formula Teams returns as well, featuring student engineering teams from Carnegie Mellon Racing, the University of Pittsburgh Panther Racing, Penn State, West Virginia Mountaineer Racing and New Jersey Institute of Technology Racing. These talented young engineers and drivers will compete on the full race course, showcasing innovation, teamwork, and the future of motorsports engineering.
