Earlier this month, it was announced that Pittsburgh International Race Complex has been sold and will no longer operate as a motorsports facility. The PVGP has enjoyed an outstanding partnership with the track since launching our Historics there in 2004. It has been a cornerstone of our event for more than two decades and a valued home for the Steel Cities SCCA. We’re grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the incredible racing we’ve shared there.
Join us on Saturday, November 1, as we say goodbye to a legendary venue. In a generous gesture to the motorsport community, Pitt Race is opening its gates one final time for a special farewell event supporting the PVGP charities. There will be a car show on the VDA and charity rides all day. Smokin’ Steer will be open all day and karting is available.
Car Show on the Pitt Race Vehicle Dynamics Area
Saturday, November 1 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Julianna Cecchetti and the True Form Car Club are hosting a farewell car show on the Vehicle Dynamics Area, open to anybody.
- Open invite to PVGP and all local car clubs to shine up your car and join us.
- Free entry for the car show and spectators.
- Register Here (please note that during check-out the online form erroneously asks what car you will be bringing to put on track, but this is for the car show only and putting your car on track is already sold out. Please enter the vehicle you will bring to the show.
- The Vehicle Dynamics Area, also known as the skid pad, is a 6-acre paved surface at the facility’s entrance.
- PVGP Historics merchandise will be for sale, including checkered flags and banners — your last chance to grab a piece of history.
Charity Track Rides – Experience One of the Last Laps at Pitt Race
Saturday, November 1 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- $50 donation per passenger ride in a racecar for 2 laps!
- Similar to what the PVGP does at lunchtime at Pitt Race each July
- All proceeds benefit PVGP charities.
- Licensed PVGP racers will offer rides in their race cars (with a passenger seat) or eligible sports cars.
- There is no cost to enter, but racers must email our Competition Director, Joe Teplitz, to register.
- A 20-minute track session is reserved each hour for charity rides.
- These laps, while spirited, do not exceed 70 mph. Helmets are not required for the drivers or passengers.
- Credit cards accepted on-site for rider donations.
