PVGP Supercar Sweepstakes

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix launched a Supercar Sweepstakes in 2023 with a 70th Anniversary Z06. That was followed the next year with another Z06. Both Corvettes were from North Star Chevrolet and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for our PVGP charities.

On November 14 we are excited to announce our next Sweepstakes – a GT40 MkI from Superformance!

Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own a meticulously crafted Superformance GT40 Mk I, valued at a quarter of a million dollars—a true piece of automotive race history! Enter our exclusive sweepstakes for your chance to drive away in this iconic car. It’s track-ready and fully road-capable.

This exceptional GT40 pays homage to the iconic number 6 GT40, driven by Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver, to one of the most thrilling victories over the Porsche 908 at the 1969 Le Mans. It features the legendary Gulf Livery, showcasing the signature blue and orange paint, orange-painted wheels, twin-pin rear clam, and period-correct detailing such as Gulf roundels and aluminum-painted door eyebrows.

It is powered by a 427 ci Windsor-based stroker engine equipped with Weber carburetors, Gurney-Weslake valve covers, and silver powder-coated pipes.

  • Iconic Gulf Livery: Classic blue and orange color scheme and authentic number 6 and racing decals.

Gulf Oil – Pittsburgh Connection
Pittsburgh was the headquarters for Gulf Oil, a major player in GT40 racing history. Gulf Oil’s Executive Vice President Grady Davis sponsored the GT40 racing team with JW Automotive Engineering in the 1960s. The famous number 6 GT40, bearing chassis 1075, achieved back-to-back Le Mans wins in 1968 and 1969, clad in the iconic Gulf Oil blue and orange race livery.
