2023 Schenley Park Race Groups
The PVGP offers 6 traditional run groups and There is a special single-session Donna Mae Mims Group for Spridgets on Saturday and a Porsche Marque Race, sponsored by Sewickley Porsche on Sunday.
Pre-War, Preservation & Under 1 Liter
Recognized pre-war and select cars that fit with a pre-war type run group. Certain later models may be accepted on application. Select immediate postwar sports cars on an individual basis. Preservation is predominantly European sports cars run stock, just the way they were produced in the 50′s & 60′s when they were driven to the track. Small displacement (typically under 1 liter) sports cars in production prior to 1975, Formula 3 cars up to 1965. Roll bars, fuel cells and HANS devices are recommended, but not required for this group. Starting in 2022 the PVGP is allowing entry into this group of larger cars that are more interested in touring and will not be eligible for the podium. Includes 1936-1939 MGTA & MGTB (1292cc or 1250cc)
Vintage Sports Racers & Formula Racers
Limited production sports cars, racing “specials” built or in production prior to 1963, pre-1961 Formula 2, Formula 3 (500cc), and Formula Junior. Certain later models may be accepted on application. Sports Racers (up to 1500cc). Formula 2, 3 and Junior. Sports Racers & Limited Production GT.
All cars must have a Ford Engine per SCCA or Monoposto rules and must run on vintage Formula Ford treaded tires. There will be a class within the overall race group for most Formula Fords manufactured between 1967 and 1981. Post 1981 Fords subject to approval.
Production Under 1.5 Litres
Recognized sports cars and sedans under 1.5 liter displacement in production prior to 1975. All Formula Vees. Certain later model sports cars may be accepted on application. Now includes 1945-1949 MGTC and MGTD and MGTF through 1955.
Sports Cars Under 2.0 Litres
Recognized sports cars and sedans under 2.0 litre displacement in production prior to 1975. Certain later models may be accepted on application.
Sports Cars Over 2.0 Litres
This is typically the fastest group of the weekend. Recognized production sports cars and sedans typically over 2.0 liters displacement in production prior to 1975. Includes Corvettes through 1962. Certain later model sports cars are accepted on application.
Axis vs Allies
Pitting American and British racers versus German, Japanese and Italian. The winners from three classes are awarded in the Winner’s Circle on Saturday afternoon: Under 2 Litres, 2-3 Litres and Over 3 Litres. A $50 donation is requested from participants.
MG Anniversary Race
To honor the 100th Anniversary of MG, we are announcing the feature race on Sunday. All MGs entered are eligible to compete in this single-session race to end the event on Sunday afternoon. A $50 donation is requested from participants.
