Experience the heart-pounding thunder of the PVGP Historics at Pittsburgh International Race Complex Powered by Ford! If you are looking for speed, muscle and thunder, this is the place to be. Since 2004, racers from all over the country have come to the 2.8-mile purpose-built track 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh for fierce and competition between the legends of the 60s and early 70s, including Mustangs, Corvettes, Jaguars, BMWs, Porsches and Alfa Romeos, just to name a few.
This weekend provides plenty of excitement for the entire family. Visit the cars and drivers in the expansive paddock and watch the vintage races and exhilarating racing. If you feel the personal need for speed, that can be done too. For a donation to the charity, you can experience a lap on the track in a racecar with a driver or rent a kart and reach speeds up to 45 mph on the .82 mile karting track. Pittsburgh International Race Complex is a 400-acre motorsports facility featuring a 2.8-mile road course with 19 corners and multiple elevation changes, a .83 mile Wilson Karting Track that is one of the fastest around, and a 6-acre skid pad for specialized training in performance and evasive driving maneuvers including autocross and drifting. Pitt Race offers something for all motorsports enthusiasts.
The full road racing course features 19 turns following the natural elevation of the landscape of Western, PA. These hills and valleys are highlighted in an 85-foot vertical elevation change between turns 3 and 6 along with numerous blind turns and 4 high-speed straight-aways. Pitt Race provides something for all styles of racing, from technical sections and turns where lines mean everything to areas where high horsepower cars can stretch their legs. Spectator Hill provides the perfect perch for watching some great racing, with a view of about 70% of the track.
VIP Parking on Spectator Hill
The expanded track has opened up 2 acres of prime viewing area at the confluence of the North and South Tracks. There is a small area available for parking on top of the hill that is reserved for VIP Parking. For a flat fee of $20 each day you can park on top of the hill with a view of the new south track and picnic all day.
Water Tower Car Corral
Drive your show car to the event and be a part of the Car Corral. Park beneath and around the water tower on the hill overlooking the final turn of the track. A great way to watch the races and see a wide variety of cars. It requires a $10 donation to park in the Car Corral, this is in addition to the $20 per day at the gate. The PVGP will have a tent with a great view of the track. Helltown Beer will have a stand close by to keep you hydrated!
Directions
From Pittsburgh, take the PA Turnpike west toward Ohio and take Exit 13 Ellwood City/Beaver Falls. Go north on Route 18 for 2.6 miles and turn left into PIRC. Drive time from downtown Pittsburgh is 50 minutes.
