Walnut Street Invitational Car Show

Monday, July 22, 2024

Nestled on Shadyside’s charming Walnut Street you will see 135 rare, classic and exotic cars the length of the street. This is a glimpse of what you will see that weekend at the PVGP International Car Show that will occur a few days later. This popular long-running show features some of the region’s finest and most unique vehicles. Cars are carefully selected for the show by invitation only – so this promises to include show cars rarely seen at other car shows and cruises.

Sponsors

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix welcomes back Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty as the sponsor of the Walnut Street Car Show. Stop by their new offices at 5513 Walnut Street. It’s a popular gathering spot during the car show – stop by and say hello.

Eyetique has been a fixture of the Grand Prix and our Walnut Street Car Show for 20 years. With 12 locations throughout Pittsburgh and parts of Ohio, finding an Eyetique near you is easy. Their eye health professionals know that every patient has unique needs. That’s why they provide convenient vision care that is personalized for you.

Invitation Policy

In order to limit the chaos on the day of the show, only cars holding a mailed invitation will be admitted. The logistics of squeezing 135 cars onto Walnut Street is daunting: accommodating unexpected guests is next to impossible. Please do not show-up without an invitation expecting to show your car. Invitations are rotated from year to year so that we can showcase a different variety each year. Participants are invited to join us for a private party upstairs at Mario’s East Side Saloon during and after the show. Contact Greg Farrell for details.

Online donations are greatly appreciated.  Click below to make a donation to our charities in honor of this show – please understand that a donation does not guarantee that your car will be in the show.

2022 PVGP Walnut Street Car Show

Mario’s East Side Saloon hosts our Walnut Street Party, thank you for your support!

Mario’s was created by a local Pittsburgh legend named Bob Pessolano in 1982. After 25 years of devotion to his South Side patrons, he retired in 2007 and left his establishment to 3 young professional drinkers who had the foresight to not fix which was not broken… In 2011, Mario’s undertook its first expansion with its sights on Shadyside. After consultation with 2 close friends, Mario’s East Side was born. Today they are a unique blend of Neighborhood, College, and Sport’s Bar all rolled into one. They offer our customers a welcoming and relaxed environment where friends both old and new can hang out, where you can test your wits at Team Trivia, enjoy Karaoke, and catch your favorite sport’s team. It is also the best place to be for a cold one after the PVGP Walnut Street Car Show.
