The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is honored to receive a $75,000 grant from the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA) through its Sports Event Funding (SEF) Program.

This support recognizes the PVGP’s significant economic impact on Allegheny County, particularly through hotel occupancy and tourism spending. It marks the third consecutive year that the SEA has invested in the event.

PVGP Executive Director Dan DelBianco expressed his appreciation, stating, “This Sports & Exhibition Authority grant is critical to the success of our event and the charities we support. It provides essential stability as we plan for the future. Staging our event in Schenley Park remains our largest single expense—and costs rose even higher this year as we created two separate tracks due to the Panther Hollow Bridge closure. This funding allows us to uphold the high standards our visitors expect while continuing to enhance their overall experience.”

The grant helped the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix promote its 2025 event nationwide, elevating awareness of Pittsburgh and the many initiatives supported by the SEA. The PVGP extends its sincere thanks to the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for its continued partnership as the event celebrated its 43rd year.

The Sports & Exhibition Authority and its Sports Commission provide financial assistance to major sporting events that generate substantial economic benefit for Allegheny County. Eligible events include professional, amateur, or Esports competitions sanctioned by a regional, national, or international governing body. Funding of up to $75,000 is available as a grant or a loan for events occurring within 2 years of the application. The following sporting events were awarded grants:

Thanks to this grant, the PVGP was also recently nominated for the prestigious 2025  International Historic Motoring Awards, placing it among the most respected automotive events in the world. This recognition underscores the Grand Prix’s global reputation, its historic significance, and its role in promoting both Pittsburgh and vintage motorsport on an international stage.

About The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the nation’s only vintage street race and one of the most celebrated events of its kind worldwide. Each summer, a full Race Week of car shows, parties, parades, and motorsport events builds toward our signature vintage races through Schenley Park – the only vintage races in the country still run on public roads. Founded in 1983, the PVGP remains driven by its core mission: to stage a world-class vintage automotive event that raises essential funds for residential care, treatment, and support for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities in western Pennsylvania.

Accolades for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix continue to grow. Classic Motorsports Magazine recently honored the PVGP as a winner in its inaugural 2025 Editors’ Choice Awards. This distinction adds to the event’s expanding international recognition, including its second consecutive nomination as a finalist for “Motorsport Event of the Year” by the International Historic Motoring Awards.
