Become a Part of our Awesome Volunteer Team!
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is a world-class automotive event that celebrates vintage racing, car culture, and, most importantly, giving back to the community. For over 40 years, PVGP has been powered by dedicated and passionate volunteers who share a love for cars, Pittsburgh, and charitable giving. Today, with more than 1,000 volunteers, our organization continues to thrive, supporting our mission to raise funds for our charity partners, organizations dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities.
Exciting Changes for 2025!
This summer, we are introducing an exciting change to the racecourse! The traditional Schenley Park circuit will transition to the Schenley Oval and we are adding a Hillclimb from the Westinghouse Pond to the top of the Serpentine on the golf course. These changes will require adjustments to corner stations, course logistics, and race support roles, making volunteer participation more important than ever. We are actively working on logistics and will provide updates as we finalize the details.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteerism is the backbone of PVGP. It’s because of the time, dedication, and passion of our volunteers that we can host this exciting international event each year. Whether you’re a motorsports enthusiast, enjoy teamwork, or simply want to give back, there’s a place for you on our volunteer team!

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Here are the volunteer opportunities available – each requiring dedication, teamwork, and a strong commitment to making the event a success. To help you excel in your role, we’ve outlined the essential skills for each volunteer position.
We schedule our volunteers in 4-hour shifts (typically 8:00am – 12:00pm and 12:00pm – 4:00pm) and provide breaks during each shift. However, we also greatly appreciate those who can commit to a full-day shift. While we strive to be as flexible as possible with your availability, we ask that volunteers commit to their selected shift to ensure smooth event operations.
Volunteer Commitment Pledge
PVGP Volunteers are the heart and soul of this incredible event, and your dedication helps make the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix a world-class experience. As ambassadors of PVGP and our charity partners, we ask that you commit to the following principles to ensure a positive and memorable event for everyone:
Our Commitment to You
We appreciate your time, energy, and enthusiasm. We aim to create a fun, rewarding, and fulfilling experience for all our volunteers. In return, we ask for your commitment to making PVGP the best it can be.
Your Commitment as a PVGP Volunteer
- Be Friendly and Respectful – Treat fellow volunteers, spectators, sponsors, vendors, and participants with kindness and professionalism.
- Dress the Part – Wear attire that is appropriate for your role. If PVGP-specific clothing is required, please wear it as directed by your team leader.
- Represent PVGP with Pride – When wearing PVGP attire, remember that you are an ambassador of our event, whether you are on or off duty.
- Stay Sharp and Focused – To ensure safety and professionalism, do not consume alcohol or substances that could impair judgment while on duty or while in PVGP attire.
- Respect Sponsored Spaces – Enjoy the event, but please only visit sponsored hospitality areas when off duty and not in PVGP attire.
- Be Reliable – Arrive on time and ready to fulfill your volunteer commitment. If you have an emergency or conflict, let your area captain or PVGP Volunteer Coordinator know as soon as possible.
- Honor Your Commitment – We count on you! Please complete your full shift as scheduled. If you need to adjust your availability, let your area captain or the PVGP Volunteer Coordinator know in advance. In case of an emergency, notify them as soon as possible.
- Communicate Effectively – If you have concerns, feedback, or suggestions, share them with your area captain or PVGP Volunteer Coordinator privately and constructively.
- Share Only Accurate Information – If unsure about something, direct people to the appropriate source rather than guessing.
- Prioritize Safety – Report any emergency or escalating situation to your team leader immediately.
- Respect Property – Treat PVGP, sponsor, vendor, and participant property carefully.
Your commitment to these principles ensures the PVGP remains a premier event while making it a fun and fulfilling experience for everyone involved. We aim to create a positive and rewarding experience for all volunteers, participants, and guests. If these commitment principles are not followed, it may impact your ability to continue volunteering with PVGP.
