This past Saturday, May 30, Corvettes of PA and the North Pittsburgh Corvette Club conducted the first Corvette Club Caravan Challenge to raise funds for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Charities.
The Corvette Club Caravan Challenge, or the “C4” as Jim Kinest has named it, was a 42-mile Driving Tour that started in Harmony, PA, and traveled through Moraine State Park, ending at Maple Lane Farm in Butler. 23 Corvettes were in the caravan, and the participants were asked for a donation that would go to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix charities. Both clubs had a donation station, and in the end, $150.50 was collected. The touching moment was when a young boy about 9 or 10 reached into his pocket and donated 25 cents to each club. Reminds you of the bible story in the book of Mark, where an old widow gave 2 small coins, all that she had. Like the widow, the young boy gave the most when he gave the least. The PVGP and its charities thank that your boy and all of the Corvette owners that participated. A big thanks to Jim Kinest for organizing this first of many Corvette events here in 2020 as the PVGP is changing Gears!
Which car club is next to have a driving event to raise needed funds for the PVGP Charities? Can you exceed their total! Please contact the PVGP if your club is interested in hosting an event.
