PITTSBURGH, PA – For the third consecutive year, the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix has been named a finalist for Motorsport Event of the Year at the prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA), joining six other outstanding events from around the world.
The PVGP earned the honor in 2024 and 2025, and its return to the shortlist in 2026 reinforces its standing among the world’s most respected historic motorsport events.
“Being recognized once is an incredible honor, but three consecutive nominations tell us that we’re doing something right,” said Dan DelBianco, PVGP Executive Director. “This isn’t a one-time achievement or a fluke. It’s a wonderful confirmation of the quality and consistency of our event and the extraordinary work of our volunteers, racers, sponsors and car clubs.”
This year’s finalists include the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Circuit des Remparts d’Angoulême and WeatherTech Vintage Weekend at Road America.
“What makes this recognition even more meaningful is that we’re a volunteer-driven organization with a charitable mission,” DelBianco added. “We’re competing on the world stage while raising funds for individuals with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities here in western Pennsylvania. That’s something our entire Pittsburgh community can be proud of.”
The winners will be announced on November 13 at The Peninsula Hotel in London.
ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL HISTORIC MOTORING AWARDS
Established in 2011, the International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA) are among the most prestigious honors in the global collector car and historic motoring community. Organized by Hothouse Media, the awards recognize excellence in historic motorsports, automotive events, restoration, museums, car clubs and individual achievement.
The annual awards attract nominations from around the world, with finalists and winners selected by an international panel of respected automotive experts, collectors and industry leaders. In 2026, approximately 400 nominations were considered across 16 categories.
The awards culminate in a black-tie ceremony that brings together leading figures from the international historic motoring community to celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions to the preservation and enjoyment of automotive history.
