Continued SEA funding supports the Grand Prix’s economic impact, tourism and charitable mission.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix will received a $50,000 grant from the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA), marking the fourth consecutive year of support for the event.

Awarded through the SEA’s Sports Event Funding (SEF) Program, the grant recognizes the Grand Prix’s contribution to the local economy through tourism, hotel stays and visitor spending, while helping the PVGP manage the significant costs of staging its annual motorsport festival.

“Having the SEA’s continued support means a great deal to us,” said PVGP Executive Director Dan DelBianco. “Schenley Park is the centerpiece of our event, but it’s also our single largest expense. This funding helps us maintain the quality of the Grand Prix, improve the experience for our visitors and, most importantly, continue raising funds for the autism and intellectual and developmental disability communities we serve.”

The grant also supported nationwide promotion of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, introducing the event and the Pittsburgh region to automotive enthusiasts across the country. The Grand Prix continues to attract racers, car owners and spectators while generating valuable exposure for Pittsburgh.

That national visibility has extended internationally. The PVGP was recently named a finalist for Motorsport Event of the Year at the prestigious International Historic Motoring Awards for the third consecutive year, placing it alongside some of the world’s most celebrated historic motorsport events.

“We’re proud that the Grand Prix continues to earn recognition on the international stage, and we’re equally proud of the economic and charitable impact we make here at home,” added DelBianco. “The SEA has become an important partner in helping us achieve both.”

The SEA’s Sports Event Funding Program provides financial assistance to sporting events that generate significant economic benefits for Allegheny County. The program supports eligible professional, amateur and esports competitions, with grants or loans of up to $50,000.

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix extends its sincere appreciation to the Sports & Exhibition Authority and its Sports Commission for their continued confidence and investment in the event.

About The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is the nation’s only vintage street race and one of the most celebrated events of its kind worldwide. Each summer, a full Race Week of car shows, parties, parades, and motorsport events builds toward our signature vintage races through Schenley Park – the only vintage races in the country still run on public roads. Founded in 1983, the PVGP remains driven by its core mission: to stage a world-class vintage automotive event that raises essential funds for residential care, treatment, and support for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities in western Pennsylvania.

Accolades for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix continue to grow. Classic Motorsports magazine recently honored the PVGP as a winner in its inaugural 2025 Editors’ Choice Awards. This distinction adds to our expanding international recognition, including a third consecutive nomination for “Motorsport Event of the Year” by the International Historic Motoring Awards in London.
