PITTSBURGH, PA – February 8, 2024 – The 2024 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is proud to announce the debut of the INEOS Grenadier – an off-road utility vehicle designed and produced by Ineos Automotive Ltd. and manufactured in Hambach, France. The official unveiling of the INEOS Grenadier will occur on Saturday morning, August 3, at Schenley Park near the French Quarter Showfield. Owners can join the show in their INEOS vehicles – register here.
The addition of the INEOS Grenadier to the lineup of vehicles showcased at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix represents a significant milestone in automotive heritage and innovation. Designed with rugged durability, a commitment to quality, and a design language that pays homage to one of the most iconic 4X4 vehicles of the past, the INEOS Grenadier promises to redefine the off-road driving experience.
The INEOS Grenadier went into production in October 2022. It was designed to be a modern replacement for the original Land Rover Defender. It has boxy bodywork, a steel ladder chassis, beam axles with front and rear long-travel progressive-rate coil spring suspension, and BMW six-cylinder internal combustion engines.
Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, expressed his admiration for the old Land Rover Defender and the significant improvements incorporated into the INEOS Grenadier.
“Our new 4X4 has been inspired by the spirit of the Land Rover Defender, but it represents a major improvement on previous models,” said Ratcliffe. With a target market that spans global audiences, including agriculture and forestry workers, explorers, adventurers, and traditional 4×4 enthusiasts seeking an authentic off-road driving experience, the INEOS Grenadier is poised to make a lasting impact.
The 2024 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, known for being one of the largest motorsports festivals in North America and celebrating automotive heritage, serves as the perfect platform for the official debut of the INEOS Grenadier. Attendees can expect an exclusive first look at this groundbreaking vehicle during the opening festivities on Saturday morning, August 3.
RDS Automotive Group is thrilled that INEOS Grenadier has joined its esteemed group of automotive brands displayed at the PVGP. Their portfolio of brands includes show sponsors such as Ferrari Philadelphia and McLaren Philadelphia, which also appear at the PVGP in Schenley Park.
