June 27, 2024 – The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand is thrilled with the incredible posters that Todd Cook created for the 2024 PVGP. He brings great expertise and talent working with motorsports-related companies, developing artwork and design for events and marketing campaigns: Das Renn Treffen in Miami, Lucky Dog Racing League, Rasant Products, Scheel-Mann, ZWECK, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, KYMA Boats and many others.

Born in Maine, Todd literally caught the car bug early in life, starting with Herbie the Love Bug and later being drawn to 80’s supercars of the time with Lamborghini Countach posters covering his bedroom walls. Now living in Dunedin, Florida, he creates bold graphic looks and occasional humor to create impactful artwork. He also creates hand-painted automotive art using old air-cooled Porsche 911 doors, hoods and decklids as canvases for re-imagined classic Porsche racing liveries.

Visit Todd’s website, where he offers artwork, stickers and shirts featuring his automotive creations or his Petrol-Emotion site. PVGP executive director Dan DelBianco has followed Todd on Instagram for years, saying, “I have been a fan of Todd’s automotive style and appreciated his unique ability to illustrate in a powerful and colorful way. I thought the playful Mini Cooper would fit that style well, and he hit it out of the park. There are many Mini’s that race with us, but the 1962 Gulf Oil Mini racer owned by Bruce Whipple of Newton, NJ, had the look we were looking for since Pittsburgh has a rich history with the powder blue and orange livery.  Just a few days after Todd completed the MINI poster, we had the opportunity to host the 60th GT40 Reunion on our first race weekend at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Todd agreed to create a sister poster featuring the famous number chassis 1075 GT40 in the same Gulf Oil livery.”

Todd offers his vision for our 2024 poster series: “For this year’s Mini poster, I was tasked with creating artwork with a Mini Cooper as the Marque of the Year. After studying the photos, I decided on the design you see on the poster. A lot of time was spent on the details of the Mini, like the reflection of a Pittsburgh bridge in the paintwork if you look closely. It’s a fun car to draw, especially knowing that the owner is a PVGP participant, and I was thrilled to see it represented on the poster. Of course, you can never go wrong with the Gulf Racing livery on any race car! I followed that up with another poster featuring the GT40 Reunion. I designed it using the same colors and art style. The poster depicts the famous number 6 GT40 in 1969 when Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver beat out the Porsche 908 in a thrilling finish in the 1069 LeMans. I am excited to attend the PVGP for the first time and I hope to meet many fellow enthusiasts.”

Todd Cook will attend the August 3-4 Race Weekend in Schenley Park. He will appear on the Peoples Gas Stage.
