The PVGP is pleased to announce the new Triumph—MG Challenge
PVGP Historics at Pitt Race – July 11 through 13, 2025
The friendly rivalry between the Triumph and MG faithful will be tested, with racers from Coventry and Abingdon battling it out for bragging rights at a track ideal for these British racing legends. These two marques have supported our Historic Races since they started in 2004.
All cars will practice and race in their regularly assigned PVGP Race Groups by engine size for the three-day event. On Saturday and Sunday, a Triumph and MG-only race will be featured. Marty Sukey and Eric Russell are working on a point system to determine which team will take the trophy on Saturday, along with bragging rights. Sunday’s race will award individuals based on their times.
We expect 50+ participants and anticipate some significant cars joining us. We also encourage all racers to attend the Schenley Park races the following weekend.- July 19/20, where both groups have been racing with us since we started back in 1983.
Triumphs and MGs are eligible to participate in both races at no extra charge, but the car and driver must be signed up for the Historics Race Weekend to be eligible. An optional Test & Tune is offered on Thursday, July 10, for racers unfamiliar with the track or who need to get their cars race-ready.
The PVGP wishes to thank Marty Sukey, Eric Russell and Jim Dolan for pulling this together. We are excited to host the first edition of this race at Pittsburgh International Race Complex and hope this leads to a long-term event.
If you have not been to Pitt Race, you will enjoy the track and its amenities.

About Pitt Race
Experience the heart-pounding thunder of the PVGP Historics at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Since 2004, racers across the country have come to the 2.8-mile purpose-built track 40 miles northwest of Pittsburgh for fierce competition between the legends of the 60s and early 70s.
Catering to sports cars, formula cars, motorcycles and more, the main track complex offers three different configurations. The North Track, initially opened in 2002, is 1.6 miles long, and the South Track, added in 2015, covers 1.2 miles. The full course is 2.78 miles long with 19 turns and features significant elevation changes, following the natural terrain that winds throughout the 427-acre property. Both courses have been completely resurfaced and can be combined or run independently. Pitt Race has eight garages for rent adjacent to the North Track paddock area and eight near the Events Center. The garage bays are equipped with roll-up garage doors and are available for rent during the PVGP. Track video on YouTube
