RACERS PAGE
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is grateful for a successful 2025 – one that challenged us to adapt when the Panther Hollow Bridge closed at the center of the race circuit we had used for 42 years. By creating a new course, we were able to continue racing in Schenley Park while continuing our mission to raise critical funds for charity. Thanks to the racers who joined us, the event ran smoothly and safely, and the spirit of PVGP carried on.
With the anticipated reopening of the Panther Hollow Bridge in 2026 by the City of Pittsburgh, we are planning for a return to our iconic race circuit – crossing the bridge, winding past the stone walls, and climbing through the golf course in front of 100,000 enthusiastic fans. Our goal is to bring racers and spectators back to our traditional course that has defined PVGP for generations.
We can’t wait for summer to return, and hope you’ll plan to race with us. Registration opens in early January.
Expanded Sports Car Eligibility Thru 1987
The PVGP is expanding vehicle eligibility in Schenley Park to include model years up through 1987. This change updates certain models to our traditional marques and introduces new ones to our grid. Final acceptance of later model select sports cars is at the discretion of the PVGP Competition Committee.
New Pavement Improvements
Significant sections of roadway within Schenley Park have recently been repaved, offering smoother surfaces and improved consistency in key areas of the course. These upgrades are expected to enhance drivability while maintaining the technical character of our street course that racers know so well.
PVGP Wins Classic Motorsport’s Inaugural 2025 Editors’ Choice Award
Accolades for the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix continue to grow as Classic Motorsports Magazine named the PVGP a winner in its inaugural 2025 Editors’ Choice Awards. “To receive recognition from such a respected publication is truly an honor,” said Joe Teplitz, PVGP Competition Director. “Being recognized by multiple organizations in our industry is a testament to the dedication and passion of our racers and participants.” The PVGP’s volunteer team plays a vital role in delivering a safe, competitive, and memorable racing experience for participants and spectators each year.
This award adds to the PVGP’s international recognition. The event was also recently named a finalist for Motorsport Event of the Year by the International Historic Motoring Awards for the second consecutive year.
